Sunday, March 29, 2009 ![]() Brad Pitt can REALLY act. And I'm not saying this just because he's the reincarnation of Greek God or anything like that. This was what I gathered after re-watching Meet Joe Black. I think Brad Pitt looks the handsome-est in this particular film. He has this whole Californian dude thing going here in this movie. As far as I can remember, his image went downhill after that.It went from scruffy,oh I just got out of the bed look in Fight Club,to the I am totally beyond caring about my looks now look in recent tabloids. I can understand why The Academy simply refuses to hand him the golden statue though he has been nominated several times. They simply cannot accept the fact that an actor can be born good looking AND possess the acting capability too. Like The Bucket List,Meet Joe Black is the kind of movie that makes you view things in another perspective when you're watching the film during different stages of your lives. When I first watched it during my sec sch days, all I could think of was Wah Brad Pitt is freaking handsome. But yesterday when I watched the film again,I began to understand the hidden meaning of this film. I cannot forget the last few scenes of the movie, when Joe Black was about to return 'home' with Anthony Hopkins. Both of them were watching the fireworks display, and Brad Pitt had a nostaglic look on his face. Anthony Hopkins said: 'Hard to let go, isn't it?' Brad Pitt nodded his head. Then Anthony Hopkins continued by saying,'Well, that's life.' 他那一句话真的点到我的心坎里. How true. I think Brad Pitt really nailed the character. He really did bring a childlike innocence to Joe Black which made him such a likable character, even though we are not supposed to like him since he's Death. At that very moment,I was reminded of Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorshands. Both of them possess genuine curiosity about human lives. I sure did not regret my decision in buying this dvd. =) |
