It always amazes me that there are indeed people out there who are so self sacrificing, and withhold nothing back to give the best to their students. <br /><br />Of course, Ms Gruwell faced some setbacks at the beginning. I still remember there was this dialogue between her and one of the students, which left a deep impression on me.<br /><br /><br />Ms Gruwell: Why do you hate me? You don't even know me.<br /><br />Student: I know what you white people can do.<br /><br /><br /><br />Very often, racial discrimination occurs because we give unfair treatment to other races. It's quite upsetting to place a judgment on a person just because they have a different skin colour. Ms Gruwell never gives in to setbacks. Despite the students being rude to her, she manages to win their hearts over through the course of time.
